- I did it recently, to take a ski back home from the repair shop.

- The strap-to-the-side approach wouldn't have worked, because I have
- a Beemer R-bike, and there are carbs sticking out; strapping it lengthwise
- on the saddle is no good either, because of the fuel tank being both
- higher and wider than the seat.

- the right knee prevented it slipping sideways.
