- Hi Folks,
-
- I need some help and info on the V65 Sabre.
-
- First the immediate problem; The engine will free rev
- in second gear at about 5k and jump to about 5.5k before it
- catches. when it does this in wet riding orduring an intersection
- turn it almost breaks loose. The rpm range changes depending on
- how hard I'm pushing it. If I am comming off a light quick it
- will sometimes happen three times over the 5k to 8K range.
-
- This is not a smooth thing, jerks the hell out of the bike.
- but at this point only happens in second gear. It does not jump out
- of gear. My inclination is that it is a clutch problem. The clutch
- only starts to engage now about 3/16 " before full release.
-
- How do I ensure it is the clutch or the gear before tearing it
- apart? I ride it every day ( only form of transport ) and want to
- get the parts before I tear it open, to limit down time.
-
- The bike has over 39K on the clock.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
- John.
-
- Also I seem to remember someone having a lot of info on th V
- engines and posting an offer to E mail copies out. Please send me
- any info you have. Thanks again.
