-
- All Suzuki does is design the bike and the suspension. A tire will behave
- according to how much weight is on it and how the suspension is set up,
- (rather, the bike will act differently depending on tire pressure) which
- is why you should stick to the bike manufacturer's recommendation.
-
- Allow me to flame myself. But all tires ore not created equal! How does the
- manufacturer know which tire you're going to use?
-
- Allow me to defend myself. In some cases, they design the bike to go with a
- particular tire, or vice versa. The Katana 750, in its current version,
- has always come with Metzelers, as far as I know. Suzuki may have designed
- their suspension system to go with these tires, at which point I'd use
- the bike maker's numbers.
-
- This is part of the problem with doing something as drastic as putting
- radials on an old bike. The bike isn't set up for radials, which are much
- more compliant, so you'd probably have to inflate them more to get a similar
- ride.
-
- I can't tell the difference in the ride when the tires are a few psi low,
- so I probably wouldn't notice a few psi higher either. I go with what's
- written on the bike because those are the only numbers I have when I get
- to the air pump.
