- Could some kind soul tell me how to upload this? I have no real
- idea how to deal with archives... I haven't even really been able
- to find any file at cerritos that I think might be this program.
-
- I had no luck ftp'ing it to a unix box - something broke the format of
- the zip file between vms & unix. So I ftp'd it to vms and then
- kermited it onto my pc at home. If someone knows how to preserve a
- zip file from vms to unix, please add to this:
-
- % ftp cerritos.edu
- username: anonymous # anonymous ftp login
- password: bcd+@osu.edu # your email address is standard password
- ftp> cd dod.dir # change to dod directory
- ftp> bin # binary file transfer mode
- ftp> get skill.zip # transfer the file
- ftp> quit # all done
-
- There are actually a couple more lines of info that ftp gives you,
- especially around the username and password prompts. But those are
- the things you type.
-
- Note that the 'ls' command in ftp will show you a list of files on the
- remote host; 'cd' likewise works as you expect, changes your directory
- on the remote host. '?' will show you commands.
-
- Note also that most files in the dod archive are binary, since they
- are mostly .gif files (pictures). Text files like the faq and so on
- are more efficiently transferred in ASCII mode (ftp command 'ascii'
- instead of 'bin'; 'ascii' is default mode when you start ftp).
