- I got my SR500 real cheap due to this problem. Disconnect compression release
- cable and remove rocker cover. Remove spark plug. Rotate engine and observe
- rocker action. Check for free play with piston at TDC. If valve lash is
- correct, it's not stuck. Connect cable and repeat. If no free play, lube the
- compression release cable. Get the White Brothers top end oiling kit. About
- $20 and a 10 minute (max) installation.
