  26. and assembling it with the case heated and the bearing chilled. That is,
  27. unless the bearing race is knurled or "spined" like Harleys Evo engine
  28. cylinder liners. In that case, the aluminum might bond to the iregularities
  29. and stick better than a "shrink" fit. Anyway, if the bearing seizes (maybe
  30. what happened to yours), a shrink fit will cause less damage to the case
  31. than casting the races in, so you may be better off than stock if you fix
  32. it this way.
