- I would have to agree with an earlier poster. If you are
- moving through some place with some mean dogs, a short sword/long
- knife would be optimal. Don't have to worry about bullets
- running out or jamming, superior reach, and multi-purpose(Making
- spiked stickswith machete and then charring end to make spear,
- as well as good for trail breaking through heavy underbrush, as
- well as making spieks for various traps, etc., etc.) In my opinion,
- a good $6 machete is the perfect inanimate bodyguard for a trip
- through the wilds, assuming no worry of armed human opponents.
- Cheap, legal and effective.
