- Those were fundamental Kata's. There are many Kata's which have
- been developed within and without the Kodokan which are not on the
- syllabus. The one's which are there are to provide a basics for
- individuals developing their own methods for practice.

- As combat is serious business, safety and proper attitude are important
- to proper practice. Thus, certain forms are necessary to minimize
- the risk of injury.

- In AAU Jujutsu, there are always new Kata being demonstrated in combative
- sequence. This is not adverse to anything taught by Kano or Kodokan.
