- Some Hapkido "styles" kick only infrequently, and only below the waist.
- The kick is taught as a finishing technique, for when the opponent is grounded
- and controlled, but has to be disabled.

- As for weapons; staff, sword, knife, short stick, yawari, cane and towel
- are all I am familiar with. All were taught from the point of view of
- disarming first, then weapon vs. weapon.
