- I don't know if Jerod's answered your posting yet (it's probably
- better to mail him than to post if you have specific Factsheet 5
- questions). I just edit the queer zine section, and I haven't been
- as involved with production as Seth and Jerod. So I'm not really
- speaking from a position of authority.
-
- The reasoning behind the postcards was that for financial reasons, it's
- impossible to send out trade copies of Factsheet 5. When Hudson Luce
- published issue 45, not only didn't he send out trade copies, nobody who
- was reviewed in it was notified that the issue had come out. And there
- was virtually no distribution of the zine. The idea with doing
- tear sheets was that people could see their reviews and know the
- zine was out. I guess we didn't think that there might actually
- be typos! :-)
-
- It might be a good idea to print up the postcards and send them out
- a couple weeks before printing. That means that the reviews will be
- a couple weeks older before they get to the readers, but they'll also
- be more accurate. It also means yet more work (entering in corrections)
- for the already overworked editors.
-
- Jerod did say in his posting that there will be an errata column
- next time. And hopefully the kinks will get worked out in future
- issues.
