- I've experimented with every high-tempeture glue I could get my hands on.
- It seems that the higher the rating, the more watery the glue is. This
- leads to the wicking absorbing the glue to an extreme, thus plugging
- the weave that you want to leave open for the fuel. The glues I have
- experimented with have also had a reasonably low shear point (according
- to manufacturers specs.) and should fatigue in short order, leaving the
- potential for wicks to fly free. The phenoic resins are sold at any store
- that sells woodburning stoves. They use them to glue the high temperature
- gaskets onto the doors. I think you will be disapointed, as you will lose
- absorbancy in the wicking. On the other hand, if you do experiment, I'd
- be interested in hearing about how it went.
