- On the subject of long sentences with 11 'thats' and however many hads there were, try this one for five 'ands' in a row:
-
- There was the restuarant that served, among other things of course, ham and eggs for brekkie. To advertise, the owner put up a sign saying:
-
- "Ham, and, eggs"
-
- Now, one very intelectual customer came along and noticed that there were a few too many commas there, so the customer went to the owner and explained
- :
- "Sir, (or Ma'am I suppose), your sign is grammatically incorrect."
- "Oh," said the owner, "tell me how I should fix it."
- "Easy," said the customer (let's make the customer female and even it up), " just take out the commas between 'ham' and 'and' and 'and' and 'eggs'."
-
- So there you have it.
