  39. I just got back from Singapore, where I got some copies made at ol' "Gay Man
  40. Hair"...there is apparently no standard in spelling, the term "tidbits", get
  41. misspelt in large signs as "tipbits", "tippits", and "tibdits".  And this is
  42. from a country whose main language is English.
  43. I had a Chinese friend whose surname was "Yu".  There was a little bit of humor
  44. in referring to his grey-haired mother as "Yu Mama".

  46. I think most people in the Far East have seen the popular toothpaste "Darkie",
  47. with a picture on the front of the tube that was meant to be Al Jolson in black
  48. face, but you couldn't tell it's supposed to be Al.  It has since been renamed
  49. "Dakkie" and the face is "white", (the color, not the race), with a top hat.
