  11. I've been reading (and saving!) with interest the various discussions on
  12. the arms of various Eastern European countries and regions.  Here's a
  13. question --- does anyone know how old these are?  Some of the countries
  14. involved were indpendent for a while during the early part of the millenium
  15. --- did they have arms then, or were all of these invented in the 19th
  16. century, or some of each?  For that matter, how old are the arms of Russia
  17. or its cities?  Anyone know any of this stuff?
