- I've organized all the responses to date by category. This will be my
- last summary of this topic, from here in your own your own...:-)

- UGLIEST GUN-------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Handgun: Calico M-100
- Rifle: AR-15 class
- Shotgun: SPAS
-
- Grendel (all models), Harrington and Richardson revolvers, Glock
- .45 ACP, Ruger rifles with plastic folding stocks, Bullpup shotguns (any).
-
- pre WWII Japanese semi-auto pistols
-
- Hmmm, I'd say The "space age revolver" on the cover of the Nov/Dec 92
- issude of American Hangunner. [editor's choice -SE]
-
- Shotgun: SPAS-12. Definately one ugly gun.
- Rifle/ SMG: Goncz smg (it's in Janes...)
- Pistol: Grendel
-
- One candidate for this is clearly the "Bolo" Mauser pistol. The old
- German one with the magazine in front of the trigger guard.
-
- Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver. Runner-up: any of the
- late 1800s revolving carbines.
-
- rifle: Daisy 22s are the ugliest guns you can buy.
- pistol: Almost anything chromed.
- shotgun: Old pumps with the grooved forearm.
-
- Glock. Hands down. That gun's so danged ugly, it gets my vote in _all_
- categories. ;-)
-
- The USAS-12 shotgun.
-
- Well, those among you who receive SHOOTING INDUSTRY
- magazine (a trade publication) may have seen pix of the
- new "space age" .22 rifle Remington plans to come out
- with. I'd give it a 10 on the ugly-meter. Other than
- that, it's a toss-up between the SPAS-12 and the Desert
- Eagle.
-
- Intratec's new Category 9; Haskells/Stallards; NEF revolvers;
- Daisy .22 rifles
-
- As for shotguns, my FN Browning Auto 5 is quite ugly.
-
- BEST LOOKING GUN ---------------------------------------------------
-
- Handgun: Colt Gold Cup (.45acp)
- Rifle: Weatherby (just about any of theirs)
- Shotgun: Perazzi MX-8
-
- blued Colt Python (6"), Colt MarkIV .45 ACP (blue), Walther
- PPK, any Italian side-by-side shotgun priced over $50000.
-
- S&W Model 629 Classic DX (1/3000)
-
- Colt Python
-
- Rifle: HK G11. So clean and sleek...
- So what if you can't buy one...that wasn't one of the criteria.
- Pistol: Glock. Any Glock.
-
- Well, I just happen to like the looks of heavy target rifles. The kind
- of Sako Target or TRG (well, I'm a Finn...). I don't really appreciate
- decorations, just the functional and simple design.
-
- AutoMag (oooohhhh.... LUST!)
-
- rifle: I love Weatherby Mark Vs if they have a clean stock without all
- the fancy crap. Just love that massive bolt.
- pistol: compensated race guns
- shotgun: A friend's old Parker double 10ga.
-
- Shotgun: Browning Sweet 16/Auto 5/any Browning
- Auto pistol: Beretta Model 92/96
- Revolver: Smith&Wesson Model 29 (nickel) or 629 (stainless)
- Rifle: Marlin 336 lever-action
-
- The USAS-12 shotgun.
-
- Ruger #1 Tropical Rifle, or perhaps the 1874
- Sharps in target configuration. Or the old Luger
- carbines, done up in fine wood and engraving and
- displayed in a fitted case.
-
- Korth revolver (best blue finish you'll ever see!); too
- many rifles & shotguns to list...
-
- Shotgun: HK/Olin CAWS
- SMG: Jati (Finnish I believe)
- Machine gun: M2HB. Sexy in it's own way.
-
- MOST INTIMIDATING LOOKING -------------------------------------
-
- Handgun: H&K MP-5
- Rifle: Barrett .50
- Shotgun: SPAS [SPAS-12 is obviously the people's choice -SE]
-
- The USAS-12 shotgun.
-
- Desert Eagle .50AE, Winchester Defender shotgun, GE
- mini-gun, any loaded gun pointed at me.
-
- Streetsweeper shotgun
-
- I think my Colt Competition Sporter HBAR AR15 with the big scope scares
- most people I've met, especailly with the 30 round back to back clips hanging
- out the bottom :)
-
- Overall: GAU-8. Scarier than.... especially when the A10's flying over you.
- I've had some low level passes directed at our boat (non firing) and it's
- scarey/ cool enough. (For those of you that aren't familar with it, it's a
- 30mm tank killing cannon in the A10 Warthog)
- Pistol: Beretta 92 (you never know when the slide is going to come back
- and take out your teeth)
- Grenade Launcher: Armscor 40mm revolver
- Anything with a belt feed, laser dot scope and an underbarrel grenade
- launcher would count, though, in my book.
-
- Some sawed-off shotguns would really scare one at least viewed from
- the wrong end...
-
- Franchi SPAS-12 with folding stock. I think there was even a
- bayonet option for it once.
-
- rifle: Barrett 50BMG semi auto.
- pistol: 454 Casul - its looks intimidating to shoot.
- shotgun: A good ole' sawed off 10 guage side by side.
-
- German WWII-era 2-barreled flare pistol (a Very gun for the British
- readers). It beats all sawed-off shotguns.
- Imagine: two 26.5 mm barrels staring at you at close range...
- This ugly beast is actually cast aluminium alloy, but as all military
- toys, dull black in color (who said M16 ?). It has a very original
- trigger system (side-by-side triggers!), otherwise it resembles a double-
- barreled shotgun action. It was used to launch two flares simultaneously,
- as a friend-or-foe identification, different colours for every day.
-
- Auto pistol: Desert Eagle .50AE
- Revolver: S&W Model 29/629, w/JHP or TCSP rounds
- Shotgun: Any shotgun viewed from the wrong end. :-)
- Rifle: anything in .50BMG
-
- Again, we opt for the SPAS-12. Ugly,
- mean-looking contraption. Great for equipping
- Terminators. Yeah, "I'll be back..."
-
- SPAS-12, folding stock (first time I saw one was in the movie
- "The Hitcher")
-
- WIMPIEST LOOKING ---------------------------------------------
-
- Handgun: Davis .25acp (or almost any .25acp pocket pistol)
- Rifle: Marlin Papoose
- Shotgun: Springfield M-6 Scout (.22LR on top, .410 bore on bottom)
-
- any .25ACP gun made out of zinc alloy (Raven, Lorcin, etc.), SKS,
- Marlin Bolt Action "Goose Gun" shotgun (they just look stupid), .22LR
- Derringers, Sten sub-machine gun (all those stamped parts), any gun I have
- when facing someone using a gun from category 3!
-
- .22 caliber derringers
-
- Any of those cheesy chrome plated-pink-or-other-cheesy-color-handgripped .25AC
- P
- clone guns ... one look at those and I start laughing.
-
- None of them are going to feel whimpy when you are looking down the barrel
- of them.
-
- Oh, this is clearly the place for the cheap Chinese air rifles!
-
- any 1940s-era top break .32 revolver cast from pot metal.
- Runner-up: WWII production S&W .38 revolvers, which were
- evidently gnawed by giant beavers at the factory.
-
- rifle: The Steyr AUG bullpup assault rifle. It looks like my kid's super
- soaker.
- pistol: The Ramline 22. It looks like a squirt gun too.
- shotgun: .410 guage over/unders look silly. (But I'd love to own one)
-
- Auto pistol: That prissy little Colt 2000 (or whatever the thing is
- called). No, wait, maybe one of those little cast zinc--err, I
- mean "Zytel" :-) pistols, no,...
- Revolver: Any DA .22lr. (SAs, like the (r.g expletive deleted) Single Six
- are OK.)
- Shotgun: Not a dang one! :-)
- Rifle: Can't think of any (the Daisy .22 comes to mind, but I've never
- seen one).
-
- The USAS-12 shotgun.
-
- gee, that's a broad category! Anything
- chambered in .25 ACP scores high on the
- wimp-o-meter. Perhaps the Raven .25 is the
- wimp-master of the world, I don't know.
-
- Davis/Lorcin/Raven/Jennings; Daisy rifles
