  11. There seems to be fairly consistent opinion that the Franchi SPAS-12
  12. is one of the ugliest/scariest guns around ... this brought to mind 
  13. a recent discussion with my usually-reliable source (for whom I'm
  14. attempting to arrange inexpensive Internet access).

  16. What's the hook on the SPAS-12 stock for?  It's usually thought of
  17. as a device to allow using this enormously heavy shotgun one-handed,
  18. but that's not its principal purpose.

  20. The authority for my answer, which I'll post in a week or so if no one
  21. gets it, is a conversation my usually-reliable source had with Luigi
  22. Franchi at the '88 AUSA show.
