- Your situation sounds fine for drainage. As to the amendments, the tree we
- planted was before the new research so we amended too, with no problem.
- The distance between trees sounds about right for a hedge. The
- recommendation for full-sized trees is 20-25 ft.; the smallest dwarfing
- rootstock makes a 50% tree; Colt rootstock 70-80%. Since the fruiting
- spurs are long-lived on the cherry, you can prune it if necessary to a mor
- or less permanent shape.
