- I would prune the oldest, thickest branches out (or if it's like the
- one by our house, 20' high by 25' wide, SAW them out), allowing the younger
- shoots to develop... If you cut it down to the ground, you'll just kill the
- poor thing... Getting rid of older wood also prevents the likely hood of
- borer infestation or disease...
