  27. Welp, I believe the new version of PC Paintbrush 5+ (I believe that is the
  28. version) would do it.  The key is not getting it to scan into any particular
  29. mode, the key is getting the settings right on the scanner so that the DPI
  30. scanned and the size/width of the scanned image will fit onto 320x200x???
  31. That is, if you are scanning at 200dpi, and the image is 3 inches wide,
  32. how would you expect to get your whole picture onto anything less than
  33. 200x3 = 600 pixels?  Your key is to get a program that you can get to run
  34. much higher resolutions (lie PC Paintbrush, Delux Paint II+ or a good
  35. Windows program) and scale it to the size you like.

  37. A fine windows program (the one I use with my color scanner) is Picture
  38. Publisher.  It has some very good scaling functions and about a million other
  39. things it can do.  Then again, you have to really have a SVGA 256 color 
  40. driver and be willing to deal with windows.
