- Regarding Noah's "clue game" on miramar,
- I'm an enthusiastic fan of the clue game concept.
- I'm glad you're planning to use the INL server code next time.
- That will solve many of the problems we had last night.
- If I may make a few other suggestions:
- (1) Post the server, time, and ports at least 24 hours in advance.
- Don't change any of this once posted.
- (2) Start on time, or at least within 15 minutes, no matter what.
- (3) Don't try to choose up teams after people get there, especially
- if that means delaying an already-late game even more.
- (4) Be willing to say (truthfully) when the game will start and
- stick to that. Don't wait around for 45 minutes telling
- people the whole time "we'll start in a minute", start
- the game by surprise when somebody is in the bathroom,
- and then be wishy-washy about whether we're actually playing
- or are going to restart.
-
- For players in such games (assuming an INL server): Be sure to
- maintain an equal number of players on each side. Don't try to stack
- your team with all the best players, it will only make the game less
- fun all around. Don't pause or restart. Be there on time and alert to
- organizational-type messages before the game.

- P.S. I had to quit at the beginning because everything was so botched
- and I was so pissed off. I barely refrained from chunging myself in
- protest (I was a fully loaded base). I came back an hour or so later,
- when the game was down to 4 Feds and 6 Roms, and destroyed all of the
- remaining Rom planets in a matter of minutes. I guess all the good
- players had left already.
