  16. There is a beta-release of the MudOS mudlib available from TMI. Connect to
  17. tmi.iastate.edu, port 5554, and look in /pub/mudlibs.

  19. Now the disclaimers.
  20. This release is a beta-release, NOT a finished product. It has bugs in it. We
  21. are posting the bug fixes at TMI but we are not releasing diffs and changelogs
  22. like we will be for the formal release.
  23. We made the beta release because we wanted to try out the lib on a slightly
  24. broader base than TMI, so that we could find problems before we made it
  25. public. It's not something that we intended to give out to anyone other than
  26. our dear friends who test things for us.
  27. Further, the beta release is about a month old. We have made a lot of
  28. additions since then, but haven't updated the BR. This is because, again,
  29. it's not a formal release; it's something we released ONCE, for our own
  30. purposes and not for the public.

  32. However, if you want to get it, go ahead. None of the bugs (that we know about)
  33. are so bad that they can't be fixed in a couple of minutes when you find them.
  34. Also, we'd be happy to have more bugs reports if you find new ones that we
  35. don't know about already. Just bear in mind that it is a beta release, we are
  36. NOT supporting it, and while we'll try to help answer questions, or fix bugs,
  37. we would prefer that you try and wait until the formal release is made. That
  38. will happen in the semi-near future; but not for at least a couple weeks and
  39. maybe longer. If it's going to be a long time we MAY make a second beta release
  40. which will be under the same terms as the first but will incorporate fixes and
  41. additions to date.

  43. Also, the mudlib is public domain and carries a copyleft with it: any software
  44. you produce based on it is to be public domain, and you may not profit from
  45. that software in any way. Etc. Same conditions as on the driver. By downloading
  46. the mudlib you expressly agree to these conditions.
