-
- Well.
- There is a beta-release of the MudOS mudlib available from TMI. Connect to
- tmi.iastate.edu, port 5554, and look in /pub/mudlibs.
-
- Now the disclaimers.
- This release is a beta-release, NOT a finished product. It has bugs in it. We
- are posting the bug fixes at TMI but we are not releasing diffs and changelogs
- like we will be for the formal release.
- We made the beta release because we wanted to try out the lib on a slightly
- broader base than TMI, so that we could find problems before we made it
- public. It's not something that we intended to give out to anyone other than
- our dear friends who test things for us.
- Further, the beta release is about a month old. We have made a lot of
- additions since then, but haven't updated the BR. This is because, again,
- it's not a formal release; it's something we released ONCE, for our own
- purposes and not for the public.
-
- However, if you want to get it, go ahead. None of the bugs (that we know about)
- are so bad that they can't be fixed in a couple of minutes when you find them.
- Also, we'd be happy to have more bugs reports if you find new ones that we
- don't know about already. Just bear in mind that it is a beta release, we are
- NOT supporting it, and while we'll try to help answer questions, or fix bugs,
- we would prefer that you try and wait until the formal release is made. That
- will happen in the semi-near future; but not for at least a couple weeks and
- maybe longer. If it's going to be a long time we MAY make a second beta release
- which will be under the same terms as the first but will incorporate fixes and
- additions to date.
-
- Also, the mudlib is public domain and carries a copyleft with it: any software
- you produce based on it is to be public domain, and you may not profit from
- that software in any way. Etc. Same conditions as on the driver. By downloading
- the mudlib you expressly agree to these conditions.
