  23. I think most of the problems that you may see are due to insufficient 
  24. results. IE, not enough games. As I've played more games under the 
  25. rating thing, the reaction of the numbers has become quite predictable
  26. based on the outcome. My only question would be this: I am 19k. Say 
  27. I play a 23k even (he does not want h-cap). I am beating 23k by 40+,
  28. and he resigns (as he should). After such a game, I've had my rating become
  29. more :) negative. I'm not sure what the resolution might be, but
  30. a resign win over someone 4 stones weaker (even game), should not be
  31. the same as a 5 pt win over someone 4 stones weaker (even game). The second
  32. case is something that should affect your rating negatively, and the 
  33. opponents positively. The first, it isn't clear (to me)..

  45. Look, I can understand if you have questions about the algorithm, and
  46. its fine that you bring them up. But, in using words like "suspicious",
  47. and phrases like 'hide that the algorithm is wrong' it sounds like you
  48. are accusing the IGS administrators of something. What POSSIBLE reason
  49. would any of these fine people have to hide anything or to do you wrong?

  51. They are providing a service at great expense (of time and effort at least)
  52. which it seems folks should be grateful for, or at least not accuse them 
  53. of "hiding" things or acting "suspiciously".
