- A while ago, New In Chess (I think it was NIC) had an article on this topic
- within the past 6 months. I can't find the article, but if my memory
- serves me, Germany has started drug testing at events. I seem to remember
- that they were checking for, among others, caffeine, as unlikely as it
- sounds. The article suggested that they perceived mental endurance as part
- of the game and thought it unfair to use chemical stimulants. The article
- seemed to suggest, though, that it was a fairly isolated incident.
-
- For all practical purposes, though, there is no drug testing in chess.
