- Some years ago Larry Evans published what he claimed to be a refutation of the
- Smith-Morra Gambit. Is his analysis still considered the best for Black?
- As I recall, it wasn't so much a refutation, as it was a safe(r) way for Black
- to hold onto the pawn. Having played the Black side against some strong
- players, I can attest that it can be a long, tough fight turning the extra pawn
- into a full point. If there is something more current, please indicate the
- source.
