- Used by some in the New England area, interesting and action-packed
- although not necessarily sound in theory, the basic outline of the
- structure is as follows:
-
- Cue-bid= Takeout with splinter in enemy suit, 4(+) cards in HUBS
- 1NT= takeout with splinter in enemy suit, 3 cards in HUBS
- 1x= Ostensibly natural overcalls but very aggressive
- 2x= Suit and suit above (4+ each), not counting opened suit.
- 2NT= equivalent of a light intermediate jump overcall.
- 3x= preemptive. [Sometimes 2NT and 3x are reversed.]
-
- Double= any 14+ with Roman responses (next step= negative, other suits=
- short/weak suit, jumps= one under a long suit, cue= GF).
-
- I recommend a good sense of humour if you are going to do any of this,
- also, check in advance with director to see whether it is allowed.
