- Actually my partner held this hand. I held, as I frequently do:
- JT9x 9876 T9x 72
-
- My partner bid 2S over 3H 4C and over 4H made another try for slam.
- 5 was 1 too high and I gracefully went down one wondering why my
- partner is such an optimist.
-
- I would disagree with anyone who wouldn't investigate with 4C.
- Partner can't know that KC along with QH makes slam gin. However,
- after 4C the only hand you are paying off to is any Qxxxx(x) any xx(x)
- With the heart entry to hand, you need one or two finesses, and that's
- not a bad slam to miss.
-
- From email and posts, the consensus seems to be not to hang partner.
- Thanks :)
