- Let's get the expected part over with: "it's a scam, it's not a service,
- it's illegal" (is the E-Mail version illegal, though?) - and on top of that,
- what if the first five people on that list got together to post that
- message thinking that everybody who reads it (much more than 15 people)
- will send each of them $1?
- Anyway, being a Civil Servant and all, I thought I'd do my good deed
- for the day by explaning why these things don't work. Simple: it is
- IMPOSSIBLE for EVERYBODY involved to make a profit. Proof: take a big pot
- and mark it "Pyramid (or whatever shape is in this week) Funds". All
- money that changes hands goes into and out of this pot (i.e. when you send
- person X $1, you put $1 into the pot and person X takes $1 out). If
- EVERYBODY makes money, then more money came out of the pot than went in.
- Somebody inform alt.magic if this is possible.
- Besides, do you _really_ want to trust a message posted by "(anonymous)"?
