- I did the ski/gamble trip to South Lake Tahoe just before Xmas and
- stayed at the new Embassy Suites, right next door to Harrah's. They
- are geared for the skier with a small Heavenly shop on premises and sell
- lift passes and rent equipment right there. The shuttle also runs from there.
- The hotel is VERY nice and you get a free breakfast, and comp drinks in the
- p.m. It's quiter than most of the other hotels, but is still right next
- door to the action.
-
- I've also stayed at Harrah's (my second choice), and at Harvey's (also nice)
- but I recommend Embassy. Rates will run from about $89 to $120 and
- lower if you can get in on either a gambling package or a skiing package.
- It's worth checking with a travel agent to see what they have, sometimes
- the packages are cheaper that what you can buy seperately even if you
- don't use all the options like car rental.
