  25. that is merely based on my quite limited experience.)  My assumption,
  26. however, is that one of the two in those couples is not really
  27. enthusiastic about learning.  Rotating partners might keep some of them
  28. from attending; a few people might call that a good thing.

  30.    Since the primary purpose, experience with different people, does not
  31. necessitate rotating partners in square dancing, I would not confuse my
  32. sympathy for some people with support for a mandatory rotation policy.
  33. Those couples that would have gone home mad at each other from the old
  34. instructor's class have my sympathy.

  36.    Those who know me might be surprised by this opinion because I'm a
  37. great advocate of order.  (I prefer parties to have activities planned,
  38. for example.)  Rotating doesn't prevent people from showing preferences,
  39. though, and I wouldn't feel the gratitude I do to those who came to
  40. angel when I was a student if they had not been dancing with me of their
  41. own volition.
