- I'm sure I will draw flames for this, but I think it's important
- information for horse owners. I will simply reprint the story here
- without value judgements, and you can all make your own decisions.

- "According to media reports, the Humane Society of Utah now requires
- prospective employees to complete a questionnaire addressing their
- animal rights beliefs and activities and those of their family
- members. Potential applicants must answer a questionnaire detailing
- activities involving animals including **animal breeding**, hunting, fur
- use, **rodeos**, and animal research and product testing. A Society
- spokesperson explains that this type of investigation will ensure that
- future employees represent the interests and mission of the Humane
- Society of Utah. Some current employees are upset by the intrusive
- and potentially discriminating nature of the procedure. Utah state
- officials claim the questionnaire "does not violate laws against
- discrimination as it does not mention race, color, religion, sex, age
- or national origin."" [emphasis mine]
