  12.     In the western United States rabies has long been a seasonal 
  13. problem that horse owners have had to deal with.  My veterinarian
  14. recommends vaccinating for rabies and about half of all the horses
  15. she has as patients are vaccinated for rabies by their owners.
  16. I have my horses vaccinated for rabies every year, I recommend it.
  17. It is a small price to pay for reassurance.  In this area rabies is
  18. a seasonal disease, it shows up in the summer when the heat and
  19. dryness drive animals out of their normal ranges to search for water.
