- more information from the article. Of those 787 cases of rabies in 1992
- in Connecticut, a dozen were in cats. These numbers are only likely to go
- up. Please remember to keep all of your pets vaccinated, including horses.

- Six years ago, I move to an area of Connecticut which had confirmed cases
- of rabid bats. On the recommendation of my new vet, I had my horses
- vaccinated before we moved. The vet who did the shots told me that my
- guys were the first that he had done, but he expected it to be common in
- the area by the mid '90's. Horses are less likely to get into a tangle
- with a rabid animal than a dog or cat, but it is possible. Especially
- with racoons being the one of the main spreaders of the disease currently.
