-
- Here are some things that have worked for me in the past - most of which are
- easy and VERY cheap! I've always found that to be an advantage.
-
- 1. Take a 1 gallon milk just, put about half a dozen rounded
- pebbels in it (sharp edged ones will punch through eventually, so get
- rounded ones), then screw the lid on REALLY tight! If you want to make sure
- the lid doesn't come off, drip some melted candle wax on it just before you
- close it - helps keep it there. Horses love this one, because they can TOSS
- it and it makes GREAT noises! I've always thought of it as a giant baby
- rattle <laughing>
-
- 2. Go to a junk yard or one of those places out in the sticks that
- has tons of tires sitting around and get some inner tubes from 18 wheelers
- or big trucks. Inflate them about 50% and throw them out in the pasture.
- My gelding LOVES to stand on them (on one side) and try to drag them around
- with him. They are too big to toss, but he tries!
-
- 3. The ever faithful giant apple. Most tack catalogs and stores
- have them - they are high-impact plastic, red, and smell faintly of apple.
- They are huge (compared with a real apple) - about the size of a bucket.
- They are great "toss" toys, but they have an unfortunate tendency to vanish
- in a pasture, which gets very expensive, very quickly.
-
- Hope this helps! Have a great time.
