- I have an old "egg beater" hand drill that I would like to fix.
-
- The shaft ( to which the chuck is attached ) goes through a bearing at the
- "buisness end" of the drill, then through the gear ( that drives it via
- hand crank ) and then into the frame of the drill. The hole that is
- machined in the frame which receives the shaft ( as well as the shaft ) has
- long ago worn out of tolerance. This causes the shaft to wobble when
- operated. Can this hole be re-machined and then fitted ( possibly with
- some type of "sleeve" ) to stop the "wobbling"? Also do machine shops
- accept this type of work? I guess I would have to go to somthing like a
- "job shop" - do these exist in the machine shop world?
-
- Any suggestions - Thanks
