- For all those who are interested in collecting paper
- money, there are a number of organizations for
- collecting paper money, as well as paper money dealers,
- mail auctions, newspapers, etc. I'll list the two
- main (I believe non-profit) organizations here for
- anyone who is interested.
-
- International Bank Note Society, IBNS
-
- For information, contact:
-
- General Secretary
- P.O. Box 1642
- Racine, Wisconsin 53401
- USA
- (414) 554-6255
-
- or
-
- Assistant General Secretary
- 36 B, Dartmouth Park Hill
- London
- NW5 1HN
- U.K.
- 071 281 0839
-
- depending on where you are on Earth.
-
- This is a large worldwide organization which
- has about 6000 members. They hold regular
- auctions, issue journals, and have a very
- extensive and mail-usable library of perhaps
- 1000 books on paper money. A good place to
- find others interested in the hobby.
-
- Society of Paper Money Collectors
-
- Ron Hostman
- P.O. Box 2999
- Leslia, MO 63056
-
- This "oldest and largest" paper money
- organization concentrates on US and
- Confederate paper money (much of it
- very expensive).
-
- I'll also throw in a contact for the monthly newpaper,
- Bank Note Reporter. 700 E. State St., Iola Wi 54990.
- It is mostly about US paper money, but with a significant
- world paper money section and has contacts for many
- dealers. A good way to find out new notes being
- issued around the world, including new countries
- such as Slovenia, Macedonia, etc.
