  7.  I seem to recall that one of the pioneers of rock climbing in Squamish
  8.  (the Grand Wall, Slab Alley and others) died from rapping off the end 
  9.  of a rope in Yosemite not so many years later. His name escapes me, but
  10.  there is a memorial to him on the Apron in Squamish at the top of the 
  11.  North Apron.
