- Not necessarily in my yard, but how about from my office window? It's
- really not fair, because that's the control room of the Very Large
- Array (VLA) (perhaps you've heard of it :-). I'm looking out on about
- 100 square miles of high plains, surrounded by mountains, with 85-foot
- dish antennas for perches. Yes, I've seen peregrine, prairie,
- kestrels, and, as I type, am watching an immature ferruginous perched
- on an old wind tower.
