  12. Well, I have a question...

  14. I have a road rear wheel that is 7-speed Shimano 600 HG.  I want to build
  15. up a race wheel, and Shimano has been nice enough to switch to 8-speed.
  16. I want the rear wheel to have an 8-speed cassette, because I'm sure in
  17. a couple of years, I'll start running 8-speed, but for now, I'd like to be
  18. able to use both wheelsets (one for training and one for racing).

  20. Now, I've heard from some people that it is possible to put a spacer inside
  21. the cassette and run a 7-speed HG cassette on a Dura-Ace 8-speed hub.  Of
  22. course, I've also heard this isn't possible.

  24. If anyone out there has personal experience with this (which means you've
  25. either seen someone do it or done it yourself... I really don't need to hear
  26. speculation, since I've gotten enough of that already), could you tell
  27. me if it is or isn't possible.  I'd appreciate it.
