- Well, I have a question...
-
- I have a road rear wheel that is 7-speed Shimano 600 HG. I want to build
- up a race wheel, and Shimano has been nice enough to switch to 8-speed.
- I want the rear wheel to have an 8-speed cassette, because I'm sure in
- a couple of years, I'll start running 8-speed, but for now, I'd like to be
- able to use both wheelsets (one for training and one for racing).
-
- Now, I've heard from some people that it is possible to put a spacer inside
- the cassette and run a 7-speed HG cassette on a Dura-Ace 8-speed hub. Of
- course, I've also heard this isn't possible.
-
- If anyone out there has personal experience with this (which means you've
- either seen someone do it or done it yourself... I really don't need to hear
- speculation, since I've gotten enough of that already), could you tell
- me if it is or isn't possible. I'd appreciate it.
