- Folks,
-
- I recently replaced my chain and rear cassette on my DX equipped bike.
- I went from a 12-28 to a 13-30. Now, I can't shift into the 30.
- Actually, I can shift into it but as soon as I release the shifter
- (Stupid Fire) it shifts back down to the one below it. I tried
- adjusting the screw which controls how far the derailleur travels and
- that didn't work. Basically, I can easily shift the chain into the
- spokes and things still aren't working correctly. ALL of the rest of
- the shifting is perfect. My best guess is that this is a cable
- tensioning problem (it looks like the cable doesn't have enough
- tension to hold the derailleur in place after the shift is completed).
- Before I mess with the cables and have to re-adjust everything, I
- wanted to ask The Net about this. So, any thoughts?
-
- TIA,
-
- Stork
