- There are a few rivers to canoe up there--in fact, many of
- the lakes in the
- Boundary Waters Canoe Area are part of a large river
- system. The Pigeon
- river starts at Lake Superior (with an 8 mile portage) and
- goes for a couple hundred miles
- along the border thru some great wilderness. There are
- all sorts of outfitters is the
- towns bordering on the wilderness.
