  20. I *love* REI, but I'm afraid my NewStar backpack has had stitching failure\
  21. twice in less than a year now.  I had minor failure on a side seam due to
  22. heavy tension used to tighten it up.  Also, the shoulder strap anchor point
  23. in the middle pulled out when lifting the pack to put it on.

  25. Both cases involved more than normal use, but it seems to me that the pack
  26. should handle it.  Both times I returned the pack and got a new one.  Maybe
  27. I should have let them repair it and I would have ended up with a stronger
  28. overall pack.
