- I'm considering a trip to the Gila Wilderness Area in New Mexico
- the week of July 5th. I would appreciate any suggestions/comments
- concerning the area in general and specifically on the following:
-
- - Any good trail guides to the area ?
-
- - Any suggestions on good, moderately difficult trails for a 4
- night trip into the backcountry (Scenic geology and hydrology
- are always a plus).
-
- - Any problems with H20 that time of the year.
-
- - Is the week after the 4th of July going to be packed with poor
- slobs like myself.
-
- - Is this height of the misqueto hatch.
-
- - I seem to have the vague idea in my head that the Gila Wilderness
- requires some type of permit/reservation; are there any such
- restrictions ?
-
- - Any good fishing ?
-
- - Have you been there at different times of the year and found early
- July to be vastly inferior to other times of the year. If so, why
- was early July so bad and what time was better. I could put the
- trip off to late summer or fall.
-
-
- Thanks,
- Any responses appreciated.
