- I've had a Delcom 960 for around 18 months and it has given good
- service listening to ATIS, VOLMET, various approach frequencies, all
- from the ground. I haven't had any cause to need to transmit on it
- other than for tests, so I can't vouch for the transmit clarity. The
- receiver side seems pretty good. On the ground I can still pick up two
- approach frequencies that are about 20 miles away from home - on a
- good high pressure day you can even hear the planes on the ground too!
-
- The thumbwheels are OK to use, but the last digit is done by a 4
- position slide switch (.000, .025, .050, .075) which I find very
- fiddley and I'm not always convinced of it's setting. I wonder
- sometimes how this switch will wear after some years - we shall see!
