- Contact your local USGS (United States Geological Survey) office. They have maps
- and pictures that will astound you! LANDSAT images are available for nearly any
- region you specify. I recall seeing one photo in particular, a shot of the San
- Diego harbor from FL 650 in a U-2, with San Diego and its eastern hills stretching
- away in the distance to the curve of the earth. Stunning. Also a Shuttle photo
- of the Sacramento/Northern San Francisco Bay area, with sunlight glinting off the
- delta. Absolutely breathtaking.

- As I recall, the prices were reasonable (how much would it cost _you_ to take a
- hi-res photo from low earth orbit? :-) ), and the money goes back into the USGS so
- they can take more pictures. Directory Assistance should have their number.
