  11. Well, you may take this as a "mini"-FAQ.

  13. Some people who are buying their first bug or ghia still
  14. believe that the engine of their new cutie is
  15. the original one. But this is (we're writing 1993 now)
  16. a pretty rare case, very often the engines have replaced
  17. several times. To find out, what year your engine is,
  18. check the serial number (on the engine block, right below the
  19. alternator/generator stand) 
  20. The first letters/numbers are important:
