- In volkswagens, all of the gauges relax when the car is shut off, so you would
- not see the increase when the car was not running. I believe that the original
- poster saw the temperature rise while he was driving. If indeed something has
- gone wrong electrically, it is possible that you get incorrect readings on the
- guages. I believe that most of them are voltage driven.

- I don't see how your car can cool down while still running unless the electric
- fan has kicked on (in VW's). There are no vw turbos as far as I know. Not here
- at least.
