- I can't speak for VW, but most modern cars with automatics have electronic
- transmission controls. Most ECT's have a memory that adapts them to driving
- patterns. I think Mercedes even has it tied into the seat/mirror memory, so
- it can remember different drivers. To answer your question, the S/E switch
- indicates an ECT, so I would not be in the least surprised if it in fact had
- this memory.
