  11.     For years, when lubing the U-joints on my vehicles, I've pumped
  12.     grease in until I get clean grease flowing out from around all four
  13.     dust seals. I've never had any problem with ruptured seals.
  14.     But, the other day, I was browsing through an auto mechanics
  15.     book and it said to only pump in grease until the seal(s) 
  16.     swell(s) a little. 
  17.     
  18.     I'm not convinced I'm damaging the seal my way. I'm also not
  19.     convinced the other way will lube the U-joint thoroughly.

  21.     So, what is the recommended procedure?

  23.     1) Pump in grease until clean grease flows from around all four
  24.        dust seals.

  26.     2) Pump in just a little grease, until you see the seal(s) swell.
