- I have an '87 ranger with the 2.9 fuel injected motor and
- an '84 with the 2.8 'basterdized' electro-mechanical carburetor.

- cheap fix to meet pollution requirements of the day.
- The older Europeans get much more power out of the
- 2.8 with a 38/38 Weber.

- Take your time and wait for a 2.9L Ford to show up. The
- Rangers and Bronco II's are decent 'lightweight' 4x4's if
- taken care of.

- Oil burning and leakage around valve covers and the rear
- main seal are a problem with the 2.8. If this motor has
- 99K and isn't burning oil I'll eat my keyboard.
