- I had the exact same problem with my 3.0 Century. I solved it by removing
- carbon from the combustion chamber using the thin stream of water down the
- throat of the carburettor method.

- I also had a preheater hose disconnected but that was causing the engine to
- run rich.

- Try decarbonizing and see what happens. The carbon causes knocking which
- causes the engine to retard under load.

- It may also be your EGR valve but I doubt it.
